I’m not saying we told you so, but actually i am…….

During the COVID lockdown, the number of people using subscription TV services such as Netflix has gone up significantly but, due to the recession, traditional broadcasters’ advertising revenue has gone down. Moreover, due to the need for COVID restrictions, the production of new TV material has all but disappeared. Subscription services are hoovering up any new TV shows that do exist by outbidding the traditional broadcasters, leaving the unpleasant prospect for the BBC/ITV of empty schedules or endless repeats in the years to come.
